Black Box In Truck Burns DUI Driver In Gulfport, Mississippi

William Bill Kelly was killed by Shirley Taylor who told officers that she drank twelve beers in an accident on Jan. 8,2008 near Gulfport, MS. Taylor was driving a 2007 GMC truck on Mark West Road going 57 mph, according to the "black box" recorder installed in her vehicle when she ran over Mr. Kelly. The speed limit was 30 mph. Officers stated that Taylor said after the accident, "i hope i killed that man". "Ms. Taylor has made some bad decisions that cost Mr. Kelley his life and it's going to cost Ms. Taylor her freedom."dui death.jpg

WHO CAN SUE WHOM AND WHY? The family of Mr. Kelly can sue the driver for causing the accident;but, also the bar that over served alcohol to the driver may also be sued. Additionally, if the driver did not have any insurance or did not have enough insurance on her vehicle, then the family may also make a claim for uninsured motorist benefits. One does not have to be in a vehicle in order to make a claim for uninsured motorist benefits. Pedestrians are covered also.
